Privacy Policy
HockeyBag.App · Last updated November 2, 2026
Your gear list is yours. HockeyBag.App doesn't collect, store or share any of your personal information. We don't have servers, so we never see your information.
Everything stays on your device
- Your players, gear lists, item details, game stats, photos and settings are saved right on your device.
- The app has no accounts, no ads and no tracking.
- The app never connects to a server of ours, because we don't have any.
Camera and photos
- The app uses your camera or photo library only when you choose to add a picture of a player or an item.
- Photos are resized to save space and stored on your device. If you turn on sync, they're also saved to your own iCloud (or, on Android once that version is out, your own Google Drive).
Reminders
- Game-day reminders are set up and sent by your device itself. Nothing goes to us or anyone else.
Anonymous usage data
- This is on unless you turn off Share usage data in the app's Settings. You can turn it off any time.
- When it's on, the app tells us when common things happen, like opening the app or packing a whole bag. Each note carries a random number, the app version and the kind of device, such as iPhone or iPad.
- It never includes names, photos, gear details, prices or anything you type. We use PostHog to count these notes, and we can't tell who sent them.
- Switch it off at any time. The random number is thrown away, and nothing more is sent.
This website
- When you open a page on hockeybag.app, we count the visit with PostHog. The count includes the page, the site that sent you here, and your country and city, which PostHog works out from your internet address.
- The website sets no cookies and saves nothing on your device. We can't tell who visited.
Optional sync
Sync stays off until you turn it on in Settings. Your app settings are never copied.
iPhone and iPad. Your players, gear lists, item details, game stats and photos are copied to the app's private folder in your iCloud, stored by Apple under your Apple Account and Apple's privacy policy. It counts against your iCloud storage. To delete it, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, Manage Storage, HockeyBag.App.
Android. There is no Android version yet. When one is released, sync will use your Google account, and when it is on:
- Your players, gear lists, item details, game stats and photos are copied to a private app folder in your own Google Drive, so your other devices can read them.
- The app requests only the
drive.appdatapermission. It can read and write only its own folder and cannot see any of your other Drive files. - The data is stored by Google under your account and Google's privacy policy, and counts against your Drive storage.
- Turn off sync in Settings to stop copying. To delete the saved copy, open Google Drive on the web, go to Settings, then Manage apps, and choose Delete hidden app data for HockeyBag.App.
Sharing and backups
- When you tap Share or Back up now, your device's share sheet opens with the text, PDF or file you chose. You decide where it goes.
- Your phone's regular backup (iCloud Backup or Google's Android backup) may include the app's data, saved under your own account with Apple or Google.
- If you delete the app, all of its data is removed from your device.
Children
- The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Anonymous usage counts carry no personal information and can be turned off in Settings.
Changes and contact
- If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
- Questions? Email hello@hockeybag.app, or use the contact form on our home page. The form sends the name (if you give one), email address and message you type to us as an email, only so we can answer you. The app itself never uses the form.
